Now Hiring: Shop Hand / General Laborer – Powder Coating Department
📍 Location: Orange, TX
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour
Position Type: Temp-to-Hire opportunity for the right person
Position Summary
An industrial company in the Orange area is currently seeking a dependable Shop Hand / General Laborer to assist in their Powder Coating Department. This is a hands-on position responsible for preparing metal parts for the powder coating process while assisting with general shop operations.
The primary responsibilities include pressure washing, blasting, and preparing materials prior to coating. Candidates should be comfortable working in an industrial shop environment and willing to assist with additional shop duties as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Pressure wash and blast metal parts to prepare surfaces for powder coating
- Assist with general powder coating department operations
- Load, unload, and move materials throughout the shop
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment (experience preferred)
- Assist with material preparation using hand and power tools
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Follow safety procedures and company policies at all times
- Perform additional shop and general labor duties as assigned
Requirements
- Previous experience in an industrial shop, manufacturing, warehouse, or similar work environment required
- Experience operating a pressure washer and/or blasting equipment preferred
- Forklift experience preferred (certification is a plus)
- Ability to lift, carry, and move materials throughout the workday
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial environment
- Dependable with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Valid Driver’s License preferred
Additional Information
Dress Code: Steel-toed boots required; work-appropriate clothing.
Work Environment: Industrial manufacturing/shop setting with exposure to machinery, dust, and varying temperatures.
