Manufacturing/Production company in the Beaumont area seeking a Welder/Welder Helper for a possible long term, temp to hire position.
This position will report to the Fabrication Manager, fabricate pipe/metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques. Interprets blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process.
Primary duties and responsibilities include completing inspections of pipe, connectors, and welding consumables; complete disposition accordance with procedure for control of nonconforming product/materials that is found discrepant; validate that the pipe and/or connector are accurate to job order including dimensions, material grade of pipe/connector; verify JO # to Forging and Joint Number; Complete weld in accordance with job order, WPS, and engineering specifications and beveling pipe ends as necessary; tack welding as necessary; FCAW/SAW/GMAW; Operate Sting Ray Welding Machines and beveling machines; use hand torch and track torch; accurately mark pipe with unique identification marker; complete shift production reports; maintain a clean, orderly, safe, shop and production area; other duties as assigned by Fabrication Supervisor and/or Fabrication Manager.
Interested candidate must have a minimum of 2 years Sub Arc welding experience. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Interested candidate must have a solid understanding of ASME quality work as well experience with blueprints and schematics.
Candidate should have knowledge of job procedures and tools as well as possess basic math skills and be able to use simple measuring instruments. Candidate must be dependable and able to report as scheduled, have strong ability to read and understand work instructions, be a team player, and be self driven/ambitious as well as have strong communication skills and be adaptable to changing work environments.
