Timekeeper/Payroll Assistant needed for an industrial company in the Port Arthur area. This position will be responsible for maintaining time cards and payroll.

Job duties will include bur are not limited to reviewing jobs and tallying the hours; verifying information on spreadsheets is accurate or researching discrepancies if needed; making any corrections as needed; processing any additional income if earned; entering the information into a computer program. Will also be responsible for recording employee information (exemptions, etc.); organizing time cards for each pay period; handling confidential information with integrity and discretion. Duties will also include communicating information and/or issues to management and/or owner of company.

Interested candidates must have at least a year’s previous experience as a timekeeper/payroll assistant position. The work for this position is mainly manual timekeeping so previous experience with manual time keeping is a plus. Client will train on task to be completed as well as software, but candidate should have computer knowledge and skills. Candidate should have strong attention to detail and strong organization skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well with minimal supervision.
