SHIPPING/RECEIVING ASSISTANT

Shipping/Receiving Assistant needed for Manufacturing and Production company in Beaumont. Bilingual is a plus but not a must! This is a potential temp to hire position and great career opportunity for the right person!

Job duties will include but are not limited to verifying all inbound items for accuracy against purchase order to ensure accuracy and completeness; assist with receiving non-inventoried goods against PO in computer program as needed; notify receiving departments of incoming goods received in order to be picked up; verify material is prepped for shipments, package as needed, and prep for load outs; assist inventory handler with tracking, organizing, and picking non-pipe inventory; participate in physical inventory counts as needed; load/unload materials with 8k forklift; any other task as assigned.

Will also receive raw pipe and be responsible for accurately recording heat number, piece number, and tally; assign applicable joint numbers to incoming pipe; apply labels to joints and receive via joint sheet; receive returned pipe and accurately record joint numbers and end finish on returned pipe.

Job duties will also include communicating with carriers/drivers, warehouse/office personnel and internal departments regarding shipment and receipt of product; complete shipping paperwork with truck drivers; assist with scheduling trucks through approved freight vendors for domestic trucks as needed; direct and control driver traffic in accordance to facility guidelines; oversee compliance of all truck drivers with safety precautions and guidelines while in plant (PPE, speed limit, etc.).

Interested candidate must have a minimum of 3 years previous experience with Shipping and Receiving as well as experience operating an 8k forklift. Candidate must have excellent communication skills both verbally and written as well as be able to interact professionally with team members, other employees, customers, and suppliers. Candidate must be able to work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations. Candidate must have strong organizational skills as well as ability to pay close attention to details. Must be able to learn and comply with all policies and procedures of facility. Candidate must be able to work outside in the elements (rain or shine) as 90% of work will be outside. BILINGUAL IS A PLUS BUT NOT A MUST.

EDUCATION: Must have minimum high school diploma or GED.

HOURS: 7am-3:30p, OT required periodically depending on workload.

PAY: $21-25/HOUR

Valid driver’s license is required.
