Accounting Clerk sought for a manufacturing/production company in the Beaumont area.

Job responsibilities will include but are not limited to matching supplier invoices to authorized purchase orders and proofs of receipt; obtaining payment approvals for non-PO invoices (ex. Office supplies, marketing, etc.); matching paid invoices with copies of the A/P checks and filing; processing vendor through accounting system; answering and returning vendor calls regarding invoices and payment status; clearing accounts payable checks in system; creating wire transfer requests; petty cash box transactions; preparing and posting selected month end journal entries for invoice/PO accruals; maintaining monthly journal voucher binder; monthly balance sheet reconciliations; any other duties as assigned by AP Manager and/or Ledger Controller.

Interested candidates must have a high school degree or equivalent, completion of two basic level accounting courses or 1-2 years prior experience working in an accounting environment. Proficiency with computers (including Microsoft Office programs) and the ability to train/learn an industry specific program a must. Candidate must be motivated, a self-starter, and have the ability to effectively multi-task as well as have strong work ethics, initiative, and the ability to work independently.
