Large manufacturing/production company in the Beaumont area currently seeking to fill a Welder position.
This is a position for a Sub Arc welder.
This position will be responsible for alignment, preheat, beveling pipe ends and tack welding as necessary. Will be responsible for operating Sting Ray welding machines, operating beveling machine, use of hand and track torch, fit/weld lift eyes and eye pads. Will also be responsible for learning the welding processes including but not limited to burn holes, fit, and weld lift rings. Other job duties will include completing inspection of pipe, connectors, and welding consumables; validating that pipe and/or connectors are accurate to job order including dimensions, material grade of pipe/connectors; verify job order # to forging as well as to joint number.
Interested candidates must have previous experience in the same or similar position and must be able to interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams, or schematics to determine appropriate welding process. Candidate must have previous experience with Sub Arc welding and working with a Sting Ray welding machine. Candidate must be willing to learn visually inspect and make repairs to each connector or pipe as required; able to carry out job requirements in accordance with established procedures and specifications; have ability to precheck machines prior to start of job; be able to maintain a clean, orderly, and safe shop and production areas; other job duties as assigned.
Must have high school diploma or equivalent, welding certification is preferred.
SCHEDULE: Rotating 12 hour shifts-6a-6p, 6p-6a with overtime as required.
PAY: $18-20/hour DOE with $2 shift differential when working PM shift
DRESS CODE: Pants, Work shirt – Solid Color- Steel Toed boots, Welding hood, Welding gloves and safety glasses.
