Marine Service’s Company in the Port Arthur area seeking a Safety Specialist for their Safety Department. The schedule for the position is a general Monday through Friday business
hours, however may require some weekend work. This position will also require up to 15% travel, in and around the Southeast Texas Coast and Southwest Louisiana. Must be able
to travel as needed.
The Safety Specialist will be responsible for safety training of all employees, accident investigations and reporting, overseeing
random drug testing program, making sure the company is in compliance with all regulations. Creation and implementation of safety procedures, training and guidelines for all safety related tasks. Will also be responsible for conducting safety meetings and written communications in regard to safety policies,
meetings and procedures. This position will also be responsible for maintaining communications with upper management and
any other job duties as assigned.
Interested candidates must have knowledge of Health, safety and Environmental regulations as well as strong knowledge of the marine service industry (preferred not mandatory), practices, methods, and procedures. Candidates must be able to effectively plan, manage, prevent, and/or solve a range of safety service issues and problems. Candidate must have strong attention to detail, exceptional organizational and problem solving skills. Ability to work well with others and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and customers is a must too. Interested candidates must have at least 5 verifiable years of previous work experience in the field of safety in marine services or a similar industry.
This position is a possible temp-to-hire position for the right candidate. Pay will depend on experience.
