Construction company in the Beaumont area seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented accountant to join their team!
As an Accountant with this firm, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial management, reporting, and analysis while contributing to the growth of the company. Duties of this position include but are not limited to:
*Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers, including accounts payables and receivables, general ledger entries, payroll records, and expense reports.
*Financial Reports: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheet, income statements, and cash flow statements, to provide accurate and timely financial statements to management.
*Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with management to develop annual budgets and periodic forecasts as well as monitor actual performance against budgeted targets.
*Cost Management: Monitor project costs, analyze cost variances, and identify cost savings opportunities.
*Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis on construction projects, including profitability analysis, cost-benefit analysis and return in investment calculations.
*Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations. Prepare sales tax reports as well as coordinate with external tax consultants, as necessary.
*Audit Support: Assist in coordinating internal and external audits.
*Financial Systems and Process Improvement: Continuously review and enhance financial systems, processes, and controls to improve efficiency, accuracy, and data integrity.
*Compliance and Regulatory Requirements: Stay up to date with accounting standards, financial regulations, and industry specific compliance requirements.
The ideal candidate for this position should possess a strong background in accounting principles, financial analysis, and construction industry-specific knowledge. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. Professional certifications (CPA, etc.) highly desirable. Candidate must have proven experience as an Accountant (minimum 5 years’ experience) and have strong, proficient skills in QuickBooks. Candidate needs to have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, have a solid understanding of project cost accounting and cost control methodologies, attention to detail and high level of accuracy in financial data management. Strong organizational and time management skills with effective communication skills and ability to adapt in a fast paced environment needed as well.
This is potential long term, temp to hire position for the right candidate.
Schedule is Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm, but may require some evenings and possible weekends, must be flexible with schedule based on project demands.
This will be a salaried position ranging from 41K -45K per year with benefits eligibility once hired on permanently.
