Deckhand
Local Marine company in the Port Arthur area seeking a DeckHand.
The deckhand will report to the captain of vessel and will be required to work 12 consecutive days offshore at a time. The Deckhand must be able to remain on the boat for the 12 consecutive days and must not have issues with becoming seasick, etc. The Deckhand will be aboard with 3-4 other deckhands so ability to work closely with others is a must.
Job duties included but are not limited to assist with cooking of meals for the vessel’s crew and when necessary, passengers; clean and maintain the galley in an orderly condition at all times; clean and maintain bathrooms at all times; clean and maintain the lounge; clean and maintain deck and super structure in orderly condition; be on deck and within communication distance at all times that the stern is in operations; assist in the transfer of passengers to and from vessels; assist in transfer of equipment, etc. as needed; tie offs; assist in transfer of fuel and water; any other duties as requested by captain.
Interested candidates must be able to physically lift equipment, supplies, etc as needed. Candidate must be able to move through out vessel with ease.
