Job Posting: Property Maintenance Assistant – Senior Living Community
Location: Port Arthur
Employment Type: Temporary Assignment (2-3 weeks duration)
Pay Rate: $12.50 p/hr
Schedule: Monday – Thursday 8:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. / Friday 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Property Maintenance Assistant to support the daily upkeep of our senior living complex. This hands-on role is vital to maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, is respectful toward seniors, and can work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:

Collect household trash and recyclables placed outside resident units and dispose of them properly.

Patrol the property to pick up loose trash and debris, ensuring a tidy and presentable appearance.

Deliver community notices and other communications directly to resident doors.

Replace HVAC filters in individual units on a scheduled basis.

Replace batteries in smoke detectors to ensure proper operation and resident safety.

Assist with general upkeep, minor repairs, and other property-related tasks as assigned.
Requirements:

Ability to walk, lift, bend, and carry items throughout the property.

Basic understanding of home maintenance tasks (e.g., filters, smoke detectors).

Strong work ethic and attention to detail.

Friendly and respectful demeanor, especially when interacting with elderly residents.

Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in property maintenance, janitorial, or facility support.

Knowledge of senior living or multifamily housing environments.
