MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Position: Maintenance Technician
Location: Port Arthur, TX
Pay: $15–$17/hr (DOE)
Schedule: Monday–Thursday | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (1-hour lunch)
Type: Temp-to-Hire | Full-Time

Position Summary

A local property management company in the Port Arthur area is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join their team. This position requires strong technical skills, reliability, and the ability to work independently while maintaining quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and scheduled maintenance

  • Complete make-ready tasks (cleaning, painting, minor repairs)

  • Replace appliances, fixtures, door frames, trim, switch plates, and related components

  • Perform basic carpentry, electrical, and plumbing repairs

  • Troubleshoot and complete tenant work orders

  • Provide general groundskeeping and facility upkeep

  • Participate in on-call rotation

  • Work occasional overtime or weekends as needed

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of maintenance experience

  • Ability to perform basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs

  • Must have own basic tools

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

  • Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions

  • Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or as part of a team

Note: Candidates without a driver’s license may be considered if actively working toward obtaining their license within the first 90 days.
