DIESEL MECHANIC
Industrial Company seeking a Diesel Mechanics for their Port Arthur shop. This is a temp to hire position for the right person!
Job duties will include but are not limited to all maintenance and repair on various Transportation vehicles within the fleet, (busses, trucks, cars, etc.) primary vehicles are all diesel operating. Troubleshooting engines, wiring, hydraulics, and AC. Will also be responsible for recordkeeping and documentation of maintenance and repair work performed; assist with other areas of the shop as needed.
Interested candidate must have a minimum of 3-5 years previous experience as a mechanic, preferably in the same or similar field. Candidate must have strong advanced working knowledge of tools and strong background working with various engines. Maintain preventative maintenance schedules. Must be able to operate all equipment as well as become (or be) forklift certified. Must be able to lift 50lbs. Candidate must have high school diploma or GED; Diesel Mechanic Certification preferred or minimum of 10 years experience in diesel mechanics, valid driver’s license; and ability to work overtime when needed.
Qualified candidates should have experience with Diesel, gas, and propane engines as well as hydraulics and welding.
SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday and some weekends. Hours are to be determined, but this is a fulltime position.
PAY: $30-40 per hour DOE
DRESS CODE: General work clothes.
